About this journey
The road up to Lakones is the reason this itinerary exists, and the reason it is worth doing in a small vehicle.
Palaiokastritsa first, for the monastery and the coves, then the climb to Lakones and the terrace the locals still call Bella Vista, where the whole bay opens up underneath you. The village itself is a working one, not a viewpoint with a car park. We come back down through the olive terraces and finish in the Old Town with whatever light is left.
